ROMANZA returns to Gyro Park, Downtown Penticton on Friday, July 8.

Romanza is Philip Grant, Ken Lavigne and Paul Ouellette, three classically trained young singers charged with vitality and talent and born to entertain on the international stage. Individually they have enjoyed rave reviews performing as soloists across North America and Europe; together they have performed over 200 performances from Whitehorse to Florida and Nova Scotia to California. They are undeniable, joining in harmonies that swell and subside masterfully, charming you along the way.

The three real life friends infuse their performances with their offstage camaraderie warming the audience with their intimacy and humour. Ever since their official “Grand Debut” concert sold out to a packed house of 1500 screaming fans both critics and audiences alike have described Romanza as expressive, accessible, and fun. Fun? Yes, by re-invigorating opera hits, Italian favorites, popular folksongs and well-loved ballads with their own tailor-made irresistible arrangements for the contemporary audience. These are songs that Romanza is passionate about singing.

In an effort to have this caliber of classical talent accessible to all, Penticton and District Community Concerts will request a donation during intermission rather than sell tickets.  “This is a unique opportunity for everyone to see classically trained, world renowned artist right here in Penticton.  Truly, this will be an evening to remember”, explains Barb Haynes of the DPA.   Opening the night will be Penticton’s own Fiddle Kids and intermission will host local talent and amazing guitarist, Kirk Dixon.

The show is set to start at 7pm.  It is highly recommend that you bring a lawn chair and arrive early as the last time Romanza graced our city over 1000 people came out to watch.
