Join us for a conversation about what it means to be a ‘settler’ in the Okanagan today. What is the history of settlement here? What does it mean to recognize oneself as a guest in syilx (Okanagan) territory? How can non-Indigenous people undertake the challenge of examining their current and historical relationships to settler colonialism? Together, we will discuss these questions in a participatory way—taking up the Recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission which ask that we critically “reshape national history” and our relationships to it in the present.
