ECOmmunity Place

Join us for this site visit to ECOmmunity Place, and learn about Syilx perspectives on ecology and place. The ECOmmunity Place Locatee Lands Project protects some of the last remaining lowland riparian and wetland habitats in the South Okanagan region. With the goal of recovering and re-vitalizing Syilx (Okanagan) ecological knowledge, ECOmmunity Place provides land-based learning opportunities and continued access to Indigenous foods, medicines, and natural materials. Join us for a hands-on workshop and discussion, led by a specialized knowledge-keeper from the En’owkin Centre in Penticton.

ECOmmunity Place (Penticton Indian Band) – Access to ECOmmunity Place Locatee Lands (EPLL) site is via Doc’s Golf Centre. Turn onto West Bench Hill Road as Hwy #97 bends to the east; once on West Bench Hill Road, make a quick left into Doc’s Golf Centre.
