SPENT is a fast paced, satirical commentary on the greed that caused the financial crisis, coming to Kelowna after a Dora Award-winning run in Toronto and official sell out run at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe. Conjuring the madness of the 2008 economic downturn, the comedic duo Jain and Paolozza spare no one, impersonating suicidal traders, the BBC world news, those who lost everything and especially the CEO bastards that took your money! Inspired by the techniques of silent film where humour, slapstick and pathos come together in the most imaginative way, SPENT will make you think and make you laugh… all the way to the bank.

Spent is a co-production between two generations of Toronto’s finest independent theatre companies;  regarded as “masters of original creation theatre” Dean Gilmour and Michele Smith (Theatre Smith-Gilmour) have occupied an essential place in the landscape of Canadian theatre since 1980. Ravi Jain (Why Not Theatre) and Adam Paolozza (TheatreRUN) have been recognized as the next generation of exciting and physically innovative theatre creators.
