On Sunday September 8th, Kamloops is ready to once more Rock for a Cure!  Matt Genshorek, guitarist with the Kamloops alternative band I’ve Taken a Lover, spearheaded this event in 2012 as a way to honour his band mate Rob, a brain cancer survivor. His bandmates quickly jumped on board and together they created this fun and inspirational event for music lovers!

The second year of this outdoor concert in Riverside Park promises to be as crowd-pleasing as the first – make your donation to the Canadian Cancer Society and come rock out to a full-day of entertainment from the area’s best rock bands. The event features a mixed line-up of hard and indie rock and experimental sounds – including, The Fineprint, Van Damsel, Matt Stanley and the Decoys, Fields of Green, A Name Unheard, Windmills and Black Phoenix Orchestra, and I’ve Taken a Lover.

Thanks very much to the generosity of our community partners who are making this event possible: New Gold International, Interior Savings, Lee’s Music and Shaw TV.
