OPEN•HEART•DANCE is a free-form, intuitive, dynamic meditation / ecstatic dance inspired by Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms. In her words, it’s one of the few practices where you come and move how you feel: if you feel joyous, dance joyous. If you feel tired, dance tired. There are no steps to learn and no techniques to master – absolutely no dance experience is necessary.

IF YOU HAVE A BODY & A HEART, YOU CAN DANCE.

All movement is generated by how your body would like to move. Sometimes, you will want to move quickly and energetically. Sometimes, you will want to move slowly and gracefully. And sometimes, you will want to be absolutely still. All are welcome.

If you have a desire to move your body and explore the presence and insight that’s possible through dance, this is the class for you.

Participants are asked to dress comfortably in layers (you’ll likely get both warm and cool), dance in bare feet, socks or inside shoes, and bring some water and a desire to move your body!

OPEN•HEART•DANCE Kelowna classes run every Thursday evening from January 9th through April 24th at the German Canadian Hall, located at 1696 Cary Rd (one street north of Hwy 33, between Harvey Ave & Enterprise way). Classes begin at 7pm and run for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

OPEN•HEART•DANCE also offers classes in Vernon on Sunday mornings at 9:30am, starting January 12th and running through to April 27th. Pricing is the same as Kelowna, and punch passes are transferrable between Vernon and Kelowna.

DANCE IS THE NEW YOGA!

We look forward to sharing this fun and soul-stirring journey with you!
