This event marks the end of the “Artist’s Eye on the World” exhibition. Global Citizen Kelowna, The Inspired Word Café (IWC) & UBC Okanagan Equity and Inclusion Office present an evening of discussion and poetry for International Women’s Day.

The UN’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Make It Happen” and we are asking instead “Make What Happen?”
What issues are still on the table? What new questions need to be asked? What is the relevancy for feminism today? What role does art and culture play?

Join us on Thursday March 5th 5:00pm-8:00pm at the Kelowna Heritage Museum. The Inspired Word Café show will serve as the back drop and launching pad for ‘Make What Happen?’. It will consist of three parts.

1. Panel discussion
2. IWC show
3. Annual Gert Beadle Award, presented by the Central Okanagan Women’s Resource and Education Foundation

Email equity.ubco@ubc.ca for more details.

This event is supported by the UBC Okanagan Women’s Resource Center, and the Okanagan College Faculty Association.
