Geotrope - Ella Morton

The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art welcomes Geotrope, a multidisciplinary exhibition by Ella Morton. Using a device known as zoetrope – a spinning cylinder that illustrates motion in a series of images – Morton has created a kinetic installation involving images of Canadian and American landscape. The photos are on semi-transparent 4×5” inch film, so that when the zoetrope spins, the images blend together in animation. Through movement and imagery, Geotrope explores how we relate to time and place, and how we confront mystery and the unknown.

The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art welcomes you to visit our space between January 31 and March 15 to view the exhibition. Please join us for a reception and artist talk on Saturday February 15 at 3pm. All events will take place at The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art and are free to the public.
