The newly formed theatrical group, “The Shatford Players,” invite the Okanagan community to join them for an evening of fun. The first production, “Cake-Walk” is written by Canadian author Colleen Curran.

Colleen has written an amazing story of humour, laughter, jealousy, pain and love. She has developed each of the six characters at different “turning points” in their lives, and throws them together for the annual Canada Day town fair.

The cast members include: Gordon Dawson, Donna-Marie DeLorey, Leslie Manion, Colin McKenzie, Grayce Overhill, Kim Russell, and Cheryl Valliant. The show is directed by Judi Ritcey.

There will be four performances over May 28, 29, and 30 (7:00 each evening and a Saturday matinee at 2:00 p.m.). The play will be presented in the Shatford Centre Auditorium. The cost of the tickets is $20. They are available at the Shatford Centre, The Dragon’s Den and the Penticton Visitor Centre. For those who are members of the Okanagan School of the Arts (OSA), the price of the tickets is only $15.

The play is a comedy and you will not be disappointed. As a matter of fact, you will split your sides laughing. Plus, each night there will be a draw and you could be a winner! After the performance you will have an opportunity to meet the author and the cast. So, nothing but fun, fun, fun!
