One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Kelowna’s award-winning Fred Skeleton Theatre Company presents a ribald, unrestrained take on the classic story about a mental hospital and its motley group of inhabitants.
Ken Kesey’s 1960 novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, left an indelible mark on literature, theatre and film — and its themes of individuality, free will, and rebellion against conformity are just as powerful today as they were in the ‘60s, when Dale Wasserman’s stage adaptation hit Broadway with actors such as Kirk Douglas and Gene Wilder.
Vital. Unforgettable. This powerful exploration of the beauty and danger of being an original taps into the very heart of storytelling, and it draws bold and brave performers. Fred Skeleton’s stage production, directed by Rob Mason-Brown, features the acting talents of Casey Easton (Randle P. McMurphy), Michelle Hussey (Nurse Ratched), Vance Potter (Dr. Spivey), Pete MacLeod (Billy Bibbit), and many more.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest contains adult themes and language. It is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
