New Okanagan event company seeks to pay it forward – using art!

Art for Humanity, a new Okanagan-based event coordination company, is on the hunt for local artists to participate in their first event – a Holiday Art Show & Silent Auction Fundraiser in support of Kelowna’s Gospel Mission.

Holiday Art Show & Silent Auction Fundraiser

When: Saturday, November 28, 2015

Where: The Laurel Packinghouse, Kelowna

Art for Humanity was established in March 2015 by local artist, Danielle Harshenin. “I was searching for ways that I could use my art to give back in some way, and was finding it very difficult. So, I started brainstorming ways to make that happen and the concept of Art for Humanity was born.” The primary purpose of this business is to create opportunities for local artists to give back to their community by using their talents.

Danielle, with the help of her family and friends, is working hard to plan for Art for Humanity’s first event this November. The event will be held at the Laurel Packinghouse, which can accommodate around 20 artist booths. Participating artists will be required to donate one piece of their art to the silent auction fundraiser, and 100% of the money raised from the auction will be donated to charity. The application process is open until August 31st, and application forms can be downloaded from Art for Humanity’s website: www.artforhumanity.ca

In addition to the visual feast of art, the event will also feature live performances by local musicians, free children’s activities, a bake sale and door prizes.
