Treats, tours, and activities offered on Family Day at Kelowna Art Gallery
The Kelowna Art Gallery invites you to join us on Family Day, Monday, February 9, from 10 am to 4 pm, for a full day of art activities, family-friendly tours, and special programming for children and parents.
Come in out of the cold and enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate before exploring the exhibitions and getting creative with a hands-on art activity. Shows to see include A Terrible Beauty: Edward Burtynsky in Dialogue with Emily Carr, Superheroes & Supervillains, and Pete Smith: New Frontier.
Families will have the opportunity create their own “oil paintings” to take home, using oil pastels and linseed oil, based on the works by Emily Carr. All supplies are provided and the Gallery’s helpful staff will be on hand to assist with the activity.
The cost is $4 per participant, and includes admission and a tour of the exhibitions.
Family Day also marks the launch of our new Family Sundays punch card program, which rewards families who visit the Gallery often. For each Family Sunday you attend, you receive a stamp. After you collect four stamps – your fifth visit is free! Pick up your punch card at the Gallery on Family Day and receive an extra stamp.
Family Day also marks a single-day sale on one-year Family Memberships at the Kelowna Art Gallery. Save 15% and for a little over $50, give your family the gift of art year round.
The Kelowna Art Gallery is located at 1315 Water Street in the heart of the Cultural District in downtown Kelowna.
