ART HOUSE PENTICTON OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE PUBLIC!

A local artist’s collective is opening their doors to the public. The opening reception will be on Saturday, November 29th from 5pm to 9pm. Artwork from members artists Shayn Hagel, Liz Marshall, Derrie Selles, and Jessie Dunlop will be on display. Visitors will be welcome to view some of the working studios of the member artists.

Art House is a local collective with emerging artists from all over Canada, and as far afield as England. The space is located in an old warehouse on the Penticton industrial estate. Art House is unique, as it allows new artists to come together and learn from one another. Art House is an arm of Cowork Penticton, an initiative founded by Jennifer and Nicholas Vincent.

“This is such a fantastic space. We just want to share it, and to let other people know it is here” says local artist Shayn Hagel, who has produced 20 large scale artworks for the exhibit. “I have put my heart and soul into these works, I just hope that the guests will enjoy them” says Hagel.

Visitors will have the opportunity to win a unique piece of art from emerging artists, and help the community too. Each artist is offering original artwork as a prize to be raffled off at the end of the exhibition, with all proceeds being donated to the Penticton & District Community Resources Society (PDCRS) charity for their Family Assistance Program Fund. Tanya Behardien, Executive Director of the Penticton and District Community Resources Society said:  “We are so pleased that the arts community is pulling together to support children and their families in such a creative way.  The generosity of the artists and the arts community will go a long way in supporting our children’s programs and services.  We can all use a little help from time to time and the funds raised from this event will directly benefit the children and families we serve.”

The Art House Art Show and open house will last for the whole weekend, giving viewers a chance to visit on Sunday, too (from 12 to 6pm). Artworks will be available to purchase via cash or cheque. The artists are also accepting donations for the PDCRS Family Assistance Program Fund. Art House Penticton is located at 2345 Government St , in Penticton. Parking is available in marked spots directly in front of the entrance, or street-side closer to Dawson Avenue. The Exhibition runs November 29th to December 4th and open times are visible on the Art House website:www.arthousepenticton.com
