Conclusion of Kelowna’s Premier Talent Competition
You know about Canada’s Got Talent, but what about Kelowna’s premier talent competition, Talented Kelowna?
Presented by local non-profit Creative Okanagan, Talented Kelowna takes place every Thursday evening from September 18th through October 16th at 8pm at Freddy’s Brewpub. Each week, two winners will be selected to compete in the Talented Kelowna Finale.
The Finale is set to take place at 7pm at Freddy’s Brewpub on Sunday, October 26th. Admission is free. With more than 10 local acts performing, it’s going to be evening featuring some of Kelowna’s best emerging talent. Acts who make it through to the Finale will be competing for over $8,000 in prizing.
Creative Okanagan brought local music-man Vincent Jones on board to organize, promote and host the Talented Kelowna Finale, and Jones is excited about the event: “It’s going to be a fantastic evening, with some really talented local acts performing! I can’t wait!”
Judges for the Finale are Renata Mills (Festivals Kelowna), Floyd Vedan (an experienced musician in the local scene) and Kelly Shepherd (Wet Ape Productions and KBAAD). Talented Kelowna is not only open to music acts. The prizes, which can be viewed HERE, are certainly geared towards musicians, and it is expected that there will be a good number of musicians performing at the Finale. However, dancers, magicians etc. are all welcome and encouraged to enter Talented Kelowna.
One final word from Jones: “Of course, any talent contest is only ever as strong as those who enter it, so if you’ve got a talent to share, please make sure you participate in Talented Kelowna!”
