Treasures from the Attic evaluates your art, antiques, and collectibles
Learn the value of your art, antiques, and collectibles from the professionals. Join local art and antiques appraiser Peter Blundell, for Treasures from the Attic, on Saturday, September 13, from 10 am to 5 pm.
If you have ever watched an episode of Antiques Roadshow on TV, you will know what to expect during this exciting day-long event. Book an appointment to find out what your items are worth, or just join as a spectator (admission is free).
Throughout the day Peter Blundell will be giving opinions on the value of antiques, collectibles, and art, including reproductions or prints. Fifteen-minute-long evaluation sessions will allow for the viewing of up to three items with Blundell, depending on the time needed. Please note that he cannot appraise jewellery, coins, stamps, guns, and wristwatches, however, pocket watches and swords may be brought in. Individuals who wish to have large furniture pieces assessed are asked to bring in a portion of the piece, e.g., a drawer, along with a photograph, and the item’s measurements. Items thought to be over four hundred years old cannot be assessed at this event.
The cost for a session is $40.00 for members of the Kelowna Art Gallery, and $50.00 for the general public. Partial proceeds from this event will support educational programs and exhibitions at the Kelowna Art Gallery.
To make an appointment, please call the Kelowna Art Gallery at 250-762-2226. Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your space. Assessments are verbal opinions on value, and are not suitable for insurance purposes. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend this event for free.
The Kelowna Art Gallery is located at 1315 Water Street in the heart of the Cultural District in downtown Kelowna. For hours of operation, or for more information about programming, current exhibitions, or special events, please visit www.kelownaartgallery.com.
