Kids’ Series Subscriptions on Sale Now!

The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society proudly announces the launch of our 2014/15 Kids Series. With this subscription, the Performing Arts Centre offers excellent shows for the whole family at a great price!

Our 2014/15 Kids Series begins on Saturday, October 4th 2014 at 2:00pm as the critically acclaimed beatboxing string trio Infinitus brings their unique sound and upbeat performance style to the Vernon stage with From Handel to Hip-Hop. With a repertoire featuring everything from classical pieces to original jazz/hip-hop arrangements and compositions, this trio provides a delightfully unique afternoon of music for children, adults, and everyone in between!

Mermaid Theatre provides a spectacular retelling of three of Eric Carle’s classic children’s stories on Saturday, November 22 2014 at 11:00am with their production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favourites. Through stunning black light puppets and props, The Very Hungry Caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly, Little Cloud travels through the sky, and The Mixed-Up Chameleon’s discovers his own unique nature in this colourful performance that will delight young audiences.

Monster Theatre (Mini Masterpieces, A Christmas Carol) returns to the Vernon stage on Saturday, January 17 2015 at 2:00pm to continue the Society’s 2014/15 Kids series with their production of The Little Prince. With masks, puppets, original music and a little theatre magic, Monster Theatre brings Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s cherished novella to life.

The Society’s 2014/15 Kids series concludes on Sunday, March 1 2015 at 2:00pm with Tomáš KubínekCertified Lunatic and Master of the Impossible. Transcending categorization, the one and only Dr. Professor Kubínek is also a comic genius, virtuoso vaudevillian, and all-round charmer who leaves audiences breathless, clutching their sides with laughter and madly in love.
