Registration for the 5th edition of the Summer Arts Scene For Youth (SASFY), a 6-day educational art workshops program, is already well underway. This unique arts experience takes place at George Elliot Secondary School and Creekside Theatre in Lake Country on August 11-16th. The Saturday afternoon culminating highlight showcase, free & open to the general public, caps the annual youth arts event.

The Arts Fusion features 15 amazing and diverse workshops, divided in 3 segments:

  • Segment 1: culinary arts (full), Afro-Cuban drumming, theatre, fabric arts sculpture, fashion design
  • Segment 2: dance, woodworking 2, media & TV, painting & mixed media, ukulele & drawing
  • Segment 3: creative photography, woodworking 1 (prerequisite for woodworking 2), voice/choral, sand sculpting and quilling 3D-design

You can register online, just go to http://www.sasfy.ca/Registration.html. This way you can secure your first choice favorite workshop in each of the 3 segments. It is all about having fun, learning new skills, making new friends and discovering and nurturing your talents.

The popular “Ride the SASFY” shuttle bus to the SASFY Lake Country venue, offered through collaboration with SD#23, for West Kelowna and Kelowna area students provides a most convenient, reliable, affordable transportation service for working parents and is a big social networking “buzz” for students. All lunches and snacks are included as part of the great price and fun summer arts school workshops program.

SASFY is a local, non-profit incorporated arts organization with charitable status. Our goal is to bring youth together to enjoy the creative process, appreciate artistic performance and expression, and invest in the future of young artists and performers.
