KeyNote Productions and MCC Thrift Shop are excited to bring Brian Doerksen into Kelowna for a special fundraising concert on Friday, April 11 hosted at Willow Park Church.
Born and raised in Abbotsford BC, Brian Doerksen has made his mark on the Christian/Gospel music scene since the early 1980’s with hit songs that have been used in churches and religious circles around the world.  Known for his songwriting prowess, Doerksen has also spent the last few decades as a public speaker, pastor and most recently, author.  Most notably, his works include ‘Come, Now is the Time to Worship’, ‘Hope of the Nations’, ‘Faithful One’, ‘Hallelujah (Your Love is Amazing)’, and ‘The River’.
Brian has received many awards including a Juno for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year in 2008 for his album Holy God and multiple Covenant awards (Canadian Christian Music Awards) for his work over the years. Most recently, Doerksen released his 2nd Live Concert DVD ‘Level Ground’ in 2010 in partnership with Integrity Music.  Later that year, Brian completed an 8-year project with Boston playwright Christopher Greco, called ‘Prodigal God; The Musical Tale of Two Sons and One Wastefully Extravagant Father’, a double album musical that went on tour in fall of 2010 to great success.
Brian is seen as a solid fixture in worship circles and is one of the most influential Canadian Christian artists of our time.  In partnership with the MCC Thrift Shop in Kelowna, Doerksen will be bringing his band to Kelowna for a night of classic and new worship hits for a fundraising concert to remember.  MCC Thrift Shop, a local non-profit organization, has been working hard to raise funds for their new building project and are thrilled to host a worship concert in hopes of meeting their goal.  The Thrift Shop, which operates in conjunction with the Mennonite Central Committee, has been operating in Kelowna since 1977.  Offering quality goods to the local community at a reduced cost, the MCC Thrift Shop strives to provide for those in need.  Recently, as a result of growth and rising rental costs at their current location, the MCC Thrift Shop made the decision to relocate and set up a building fund.  To date, the shop has raised close to two-thirds the necessary funds and are looking to add to the fund through this exciting worship concert.  By relocating, the MCC Thrift Shop will be able to accept more donations from the public and serve more locals who are in need.
Join Brian Doerksen and his band for an amazing night of worship and celebration.  Help support the local efforts of non-profit organization MCC Thrift Shop as they strive to better serve the community in their new location.
KeyNote Productions & MCC Thrift Shop are proud to present Brian Doerksen and Band LIVE at the Willow Park Church on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 7:00pm.  *Tickets go on sale beginning Friday, March 7 at 10:00am and can be purchased online at www.KeyNoteTickets.com , in person at the MCC Thrift Shop in Rutland, or at Bell Tower Books.
*All proceeds from the Brian Doerksen concert will be put towards the building fund for the MCC Thrift Shop.
