MUSIC AND MAGIC WITH FIGURA THEATRE’S PETER AND THE WOLF
MUSIC AND MAGIC WITH FIGURA THEATRE’S PETER AND THE WOLF
Master Puppeteer Bernd Ogrodnik returns to Children’s Showcase with a beautiful production of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Music and storytelling combine to enchant audiences of all ages and some lucky spectators may even get to be part of the show! The handmade wooden puppets and set are amazing, a measure of Bernd’s artistry and his respect for Prokofiev’s musical creation. Hailing from Iceland, Ogrodnik has been pushing the boundaries of excellence and innovation in puppetry since 1986. As the creative force of Figura Theatre, he works alone and with other artists on stage, film and television. His varied skills as a classical musician, illustrator, woodworker and martial artist all come into play, bringing the puppets to life. – Not just for kids and not to be missed.
Suitable for ages 3 and up, the performance is Sunday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cleland Theatre, Penticton. Tickets are $12 at the door. For more information about this program – or Children’s Showcase – please call Jacinta Ferrari at 250-493-0475.
