The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society proudly presents Sarah Hagen on Tuesday, February 18^th at 9:30am at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre with the performance starting at 10:30am.

Morning Melodies is a new series of intimate classical music concerts taking place on select Tuesday mornings. Each event begins with coffee, tea, and treats and a chance to chat with the musicians. Hosted by Vancouver pianist Sarah Hagen, this diverse series consists of four concerts; each featuring the music of one of four world-class musicians. All known for their perceptive, eloquent and entertaining commentary, the musicians will take time to offer personal insights into the music. What better way to spend a Tuesday morning?

The third of four performances in the Society’s Morning Melodies series features the musical talent of series host Sarah Hagen. “[Morning Melodies] started in my living room where I invited people over to have coffee and cake and listen to me play” says Hagen. “I loved the experience so much I wanted to recreate it in a theatre setting.”

Hagen has been heard in concert halls and on the airwaves to critical acclaim throughout North America and Europe, and has appeared on Bravo Television. Her solo album, Glass House Dancing, was nominated for Classical Recording of the Year at the 2009 Western Canadian Music Awards. Outstandingly inventive and executed with impeccable precision, Hagen’s playing offers an intense and profound musical experience.
