El Día de los Muertos or ‘Day of the Dead’ is the inspiration for Sugar Skull Strut on November 1st. This is traditionally a festive time of celebration in Mexico, honoring past souls and loved ones. Being an art centre, we figured that celebrating the art form of the cheerful cranials known as Sugar Skulls, is a perfect fit.

Dress it up or dress it down, if you wish to Strut your Sugarskull best, we will have a red carpet photographer to post beautiful faces to our Facebook Page for a week’s worth of People’s Choice voting and prizes.

Your $25 advance ticket includes:

• Locarno with music that is part Mexican but with strong doses of Cuban Son, Jarocho, Pop and Funk.

• Kinshira Performance Troupe with their magical fire poi show and black light lounge.

• A fabulous Artisan Mexican Marketplace including pottery and masks.

• Photo strips from OKANAGAN PHOTOSTAR with their green screen to Mexico.

• Marigold decorated ofrendas and piñatas.

• There will be a Cash Cantina for beer, sangria and margaritas or Mexican bites.

This themed party happens throughout the building November 1st from 8-midnite, and is a 19+ event, you MUST bring ID but it isn’t costume mandatory.

Come early to shop The Mexican Marketplace which will be open to all ages from 6PM. Also available from 6PM, you can book limited appointments with several makeup artists for professional applications for a charge. Email events@rotarycentreforthearts.com to book.
