Alberta Ballet brings Fumbling Towards Ecstasy to Vernon Stage

FUMBLING TOWARDS ECSTASY Alberta Ballet 2011 FUMBLING TOWARDS ECSTASY Alberta Ballet 2011

Alberta Ballet, among Canada’s largest ballet companies, combines stunning choreography with music of one of Canada’s most loved singer/songwriters Sarah McLachlan. Alberta Ballet’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy brings poetry in motion to the Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre on Sunday November 3, 7:30pm.

The Alberta Ballet is renowned worldwide for its exquisite portrayal of classical ballets and contemporary pieces.  This incredible company last performed for Vernon in 2010 when they brought Joni Mitchell’s Fiddle and the Drum. They are now set to return boasting a full company of 32 dancers for their latest ‘pop-fusion’ ballet featuring the songbook of Grammy, Juno, and Gemini Award-winning Sarah McLachlan.

After the tremendous success of collaborating with Joni Mitchell and Sir Elton John, and choreographing the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremonies, artistic director of 11 years Jean Grand-Maître is earning more glowing reviews with Fumbling Towards Ecstasy.

On November 3rd, Alberta Ballet takes us on the deeply spiritual odyssey of every woman as she traces life and love from first encounter to full maturity, all set to the backdrop of McLachlan’s best-loved hits including Angel, Ice, Hold On, Good Enough, and Ice Cream.

This well-seasoned and technically trained classical ballet company takes us on a triumphant journey through the use of the soulful ballads of our own struggles, triumphs and relationships.  Experience the magic of Alberta Ballet while the music of Sarah McLachlan leads us down our own personal path of discovery, soul-searching and spirit finding.

Tickets for Fumbling Towards Ecstasy are on sale now at $45 for adults, $42 for seniors and $40 for students. A master class with Alberta Ballet will be offered for dance students on Sunday, November 3rd at 10am-12pm. Call the Ticket Seller Box Office at 250-549-SHOW (7469) for more information.
