The Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Society proudly presents The Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats on Friday, October 4th at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre at 7:00pm.  This special presentation celebrates the Centre’s 12th annual Birthday Bash.

Incredible, breathtaking and stunning, the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats, direct from the People’s Republic of China, have taken the world by storm from New Zealand to Canada, and continue to be met with standing ovations and rave reviews.

Formed by centuries of tradition, the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats provide a performance featuring dazzling acrobatic displays, formidable feats of daring and balance, brilliant costumes, and even a touch of Chinese comedy.

“It really is a tour de force of tumbling, gymnastics, mind over matter feats, balancing, and really sheer fun” says co-producer Cynthia Dyke-Hughes. “The performers give 110% when they’re on the stage and the reactions of the audience are amazing.” Formed by centuries of tradition, this performance offers a truly oriental spectacle for all ages.

Having trained since childhood, the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats perform astonishing feats of acrobatics with ease. “There’s a real transference of joy from the performers to the audience” explains Dyke-Hughes. “It makes all the hard work worthwhile when the audience is enjoying the show and everyone leaves the theatre with a great feeling.”

Tickets for The Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats are $40 for adults, $37 for seniors, $35 for students and can be purchased through the Ticket Seller Box Office: Online at www.ticketseller.ca, by phone at 250-549-SHOW (7469) or in person at 3800-33rd Street.
