Mad Hatter: Into the Subconscious – Call for Submissions!
The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (ARTSCO) is pleased to announce a call for submissions for the 3rd Annual Mad Hatter exhibition themed “Into the Subconscious.”
The Mad Hatter is a unique exhibition of installation artists. Installation art is all encompassing, space dependent art that can use any material and can engage all the senses. Every year the Mad Hatter is held in a new venue allowing for a completely fresh experience for artists and audiences alike.
This year, the Mad Hatter will be a juried exhibition of 15 to 20 local and regional artists. As a community event, the chosen artists will work independently within a larger collective space engaging with each other and the curators to constructively build the exhibition over the course of a month. The exhibition will then be open to the public for two weeks.
How to apply: Interested artists should submit up to 5 jpg examples their art, an up-to-date CV, and a letter of intent no longer than 250 words, explaining why you would like to participate to “mailto:info@artsco.ca”>info@artsco.ca Deadline January 20th 2013.
A panel of artists and art professionals will jury submissions. Applicants will be notified of their success closer to the beginning of the project. Successful applicants will be awarded an honorarium for their participation as an artist in the Mad Hatter.
