New Vintage November Play Reading – Super 8
KELOWNA’S NEW VINTAGE THEATRE COMPANY HOSTS READING OF AWARD WINNING PLAY
“I am not worried things will change. I am worried they won’t.”
After two lively events in September and October, New Vintage Theatre is pleased to be offering up the third in their series of monthly play readings at Pulp Fiction Coffeehouse on Tuesday, November 20.
Super 8 is an award winning new play by Mark Hopkins and Charles Netto from Calgary. It will feature local favorites Doug Brown and Dorothy Dalba who play two unusual strangers who meet in a Super 8 Motel bar on August 8, 2008. The play won awards and great acclaim this spring during a run at Lunchbox Theatre in Calgary and was also featured as a Pick of The Fringe at The Edmonton International Fringe Festival this summer, garnering rave reviews.
“New Vintage Theatre is thrilled to have the rights to produce this outstanding work this coming season. We will have the British Columbia premiere of this play which promises to be a Canadian classic.” says Artistic Director Bonnie Gratz
The small professional theatre company, formed in August 2012, is also using this event to formally launch their exciting Playwright’s Hot House, a new play/screenplay development program for Interior artists. The group also offers acting classes for beginning and experienced actors at Rotary Centre For The Arts and is introducing a new location at Summerhill Winery in the new year. New Vintage Theatre has the mandate to create and produce new works and remount the classics in captivating ways. Their full season line up will be announced in January.
The Super 8 Play Reading will be held on Tuesday, November 20 at 7pm. Admission is free, but those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to info@NewVintage.ca as space is limited and the last session filled quickly. New Vintage encourages people to check out their full line up of play readings and programs at their website www.NewVintage.ca
Pulp Fiction Coffeehouse can be found at 1598 Pandosy Street (the corner of Lawrence & Pandosy) in Kelowna.
