Mark Saturday, December 1st 2012 on your calendars as a fabulous art night out. The Lake Country Art Gallery will be hosting its second annual “Deck the Walls Art Exchange and Auction” at the Aspen Grove Golf Club in Lake Country, BC.

The inaugural “Deck the Walls”, held last November as a fund-raising event in support of the Lake Country Art Gallery, was a great success. Over 50 pieces of art were exchanged during the event via an entertaining live auction (which included a nail-biting round or two!) and several silent auction items.

“While bidding was fast and furious on the pieces set aside for the live auction, managed by a professional auctioneer, bidding during the Silent Auction also became frenetic as participants opted to purchase, either with their exchange bucks or with real cash, art for their own homes or art for Christmas gifts”, remarked event organizer Barbara Spilchuk.

Unlike regular art auctions, the 2012 Deck the Walls Art Exchange & Auction has a bit of twist. Rather than just coming to buy some new art, attendees can use pieces from their own collections to increase their purchasing power. For $20 per piece of art, attendees can consign works of art from their own personal collections to earn extra event dollars which are then put towards a new piece of art.

“This is a chance for community members to refresh their art collection”, explains Spilchuk and fellow event organizer Karen Coon.

Don’t have a piece of work to consign? No problem.

“Anyone can attend this event. It’s only $10 per couple to attend and they don’t have to bring a piece of art to consign. Simply bid on pieces of art as in any other live or silent auction”, explains Coon. This fun event is a great opportunity to trade in a piece of art from your collection for a fabulous new piece – you never know what masterpieces will be offered!

So save Saturday, December 1st 2012 for a fabulous art night out in support of the Lake Country Art Gallery. The regular dinner menu will be available at Aspen Grove Golf Club, so come early and make a night of it.
