Those with a love for creative expression can don their finest for WAM!….back by popular demand WAM! is the most fun you’ll have during Spring Wine Festival! Guests can enjoy a truly unique Okanagan Valley culture experience with a variety of WINE, ART & MUSIC being served up in gorgeous Rotary Centre for the Arts.
The event is designed to not only raise funds but also raise awareness of The Rotary Centre for the Arts, a world–class facility celebrating creative expression. Located in the heart of Kelowna’s arts and entertainment district, this beautiful building offers a vibrant atmosphere to host a brilliantly playful evening of great Wine Art & Music. It is what we do best!
Tracie Ward, Executive Director of the Rotary Centre for the Arts since 2005, passed away March 31st, 2012. Tracie was a woman of intelligence and courage, with a zest for life and an unwavering passion and dedication to the arts. She was forward thinking, with a vision for the centre and the arts community in Kelowna.
An artist herself, Tracie spent her professional career dedicated to the promotion and development of the arts. In Tracie’s words, “Art is for everyone. We need to encourage people of all ages and social standing to participate in the Arts to ensure we have future creators and audiences. The Arts allows us to access the world through a unique window that opens our minds to many alternative perspectives”.
The Board of Directors and staff of the Rotary Centre for the Arts will continued her focus on creating positive cultural experiences and community events that make Kelowna the kind of place people want to live! Our tag line reflects “Everyone Plays Here” and we hope that carries into the audience we attract for WAM! It promises more fun, more burlesque, more wine and more music so we invite you to come mix, mingle, sip and graze your way through the night, with a higher purpose. All ticket sale proceeds will go to benefit Youth Arts Programming at the Rotary Centre for the Arts.
