The countdown is on! In honour of spring and the growth it brings, Summerhill Pyramid Winery and the Conduit Collective presents Fertility Festival on Friday, May 11, featuring the creative fertility of BC’s emerging musicians, artists, performers, creators, thinkers, and visionaries. The festival will welcome the season with a full slate of entertainment and workshops throughout the Summerhill grounds in support of the Okanagan Greens Society. Tickets are $15 regular admission, $10 for students, $5 for artists displaying art in the vineyard, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the gate.

On May 11, Summerhill Pyramid Winery hosts Fertility Festival, which will feature a vibrant array of creativity. With so many different offerings, this festival has something for gardeners, foodies, and art and music lovers. The festival is proud to support the Okanagan Greens Society.

Festival Highlights:

 

Pyramid Enjoy Inner fish Theatre Company’s “The House at the End of the Road”, hear about Summerhill’s transition to biodynamic agriculture, watch dramatic Japanese taiko drumming, and dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Grizz Lee.

 

Craft RoomTaste the organic cuisine from the Sunset Organic Bistro, perfectly paired to the Summerhill Pyramid Winery wines and certified organic beer from Crannog Ales, all surrounded by poetry readings and crafts, then live bands when the sun sets.

 

LawnView the specially commissioned eco-art installation, and the Vineyard Art Gallery, buy seedlings for your own garden, learn about permaculture gardening and composting, mellow out to original music, and witness the fire dancing of Kinshira Performance Group.

 

Kekuli – The First Nations house built on the winery grounds is an alcohol free zone, and offers the chance to learn traditional ecological knowledge with Okanagan First Nation Syilx member Chad Eneas. Discover the natural building technique of cobbing, and listen to open circle drumming and acoustic jams.
