Jennifer Hindle – The Passing of a Great Arts Supporter

by Glenna Turnbull

It is with great sadness that I learned about the passing of Jennifer Hindle. For those not familiar with her, she was a true pioneer in Kelowna’s arts community, having been an integral part of the arts council as well as a huge supporter of music, art, theatre and dance in the community.
She always had a kind word to say, a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eyes, and everyone in the arts community in Kelowna owes a ton of respect for the ground work she did helping to establish the vibrant arts community we have today. My sincere condolences to her family.

from the Central Okanagan Foundation:

In Memory of Jennifer Hindle

Jennifer Hindle passed away peacefully at home on January 24, 2012 after a short
illness. Jennifer’s firm belief that the Arts improve the lives of individuals and the well-
being of communities drove her to promote music, theatre, dance, and visual arts in the
Okanagan throughout her fifty years here. Her boundless energy will be missed by
many, especially those with whom she worked tirelessly in her volunteer
endeavours. We will miss her smile and her vast experience at our Central Okanagan
Grants Advisory Committee meetings.
As a tribute to Jennifer’s belief that the arts improve the lives of individuals and the well-being of
communities, please consider a memorial donation in her honour to:
