Prize: $250 and publication in Issue #8 of LAKE: A Journal of Arts and Environment
Deadline: July 15, 2012

Entry Fee: $20, includes a one year subscription to LAKE
LAKE invites submissions of creative non-fiction on the topic of “Places That Shape Us.” Creative non-fiction forms include personal essay, lyric essay, narrative essay, and memoir.
Entries should consist of a double-spaced, computer-printed copy with no name or other identifying marks on the manuscript. LAKE encourages the economical use of paper: print your manuscript double-sided and use a default setting of .75 inch (or 1.9 centimeters) for your margins.
In a separate sealed envelope, provide the name of the work and the author’s name, mailing address, phone number and email address (if you have one.) Submissions must be postmarked on or before July 15, 2012. Include a cheque or money order for $20 in Canadian funds made out to Lake Publishing Society. No email submissions accepted. Submissions without the $20 entry fee will not be considered. Authors should be able to provide an electronic version of the submission on request. There is no limit to the number of entries an author can submit, but each entry requires a $20 fee. Enclose an SASE if you would like your manuscript returned. LAKE and the judges will not be able to provide comments or feedback on manuscripts.
